Yesterday, I made the most amazing discovery. I needed to redo parts of my podcast intro because the character Rotherick was simply not cutting through enough. Not enough...punch.
As I was editing, I decided to duplicate the original recording and edit that (sounds reasonable). And after editing the copy, I played it back, noting that the character was coming through MUCH better. HUH?!?!?
I also noticed that I hadn't muted the original track. I duplicated my duplicate (which had edits on it) and muted the original.
WOW having both tracks playing really made the intro pop.
Now, this might be a trick some of you sound engineers use, but for me who didn't realize this, its a happy little surprise.
